Houjicha syrup
For sweetening drinks and decorating baked goods
Ingredients
- 150 g raw sugar cane
- 200 ml water
- 30 g Houjicha Sumire organic tea* (Item #00634)
The Houjicha Syrup combines sweetness and roastiness excellently and is applicable in many ways.
Preparation
Heat water and sugar in a pot at medium heat. As soon as the sugar is dissolved, add the Houjicha and let it simmer for 15 minutes at low heat.
Pass the mixture through a sieve and pour the syrup as hot as possible into a heat-resistant bottle. Alternatively, a jam jar can be used.
